Oct 26 2010 --- In Brazil, juice drinks and nectars have now been added to the range of products that are available in carton packs from SIG Combibloc. Grupo Schincariol offers its ‘Fruthos’ and ‘Skinka’ brands in the aseptic carton pack combiblocMidi 1,000 ml, making it South America’s first manufacturer in the non-carbonated soft drinks sector to offer its juice products in carton packs from SIG Combibloc.
Both of these Schincariol product lines are available in combiblocMidi 1,000 ml with screw cap combiSwift. The ‘Fruthos’ range comes in six flavours, and ‘Skinka’ is offered in Citrus, Red Fruits, Lemonade and Pineapple & Mint varieties. Luiz Taya, Marketing Director at Schincariol: “We opted for carton packs from SIG Combibloc first and foremost on the strength of the innovative properties the carton packs offer. combiblocMidi is fitted with the handy screw cap combiSwift, making it extremely convenient for consumers to use. The carton packs from SIG Combibloc are printed using the high-quality gravure printing technique, guaranteeing superior print quality and the print image itself very aptly emphasises the naturalness of the fruits and juices depicted. It makes the carton packs real attention-grabbers on the supermarket shelf”.
In technical respects, too, Schincariol is delighted with the filling machines – particularly in terms of performance and flexibility. The SIG Combibloc CFA 810 filling machine installed at Schincariol’s premises has a capacity of 10,000 carton packs per hour. As well as combiblocMidi 1,000 ml, the machine can also fill the 750 ml volume.
Luciana Galvão, Marketing Manager South America at SIG Combibloc: “In Brazil, ready-to-drink juices and juice drinks are showing significant growth. According to a study, consumption of ready-to-drink fruit juice drinks increased by 4 per cent in 2009. There is a growing awareness in Brazil of the need to provide the best possible product protection”. In this respect, the benefit of carton packaging over alternative types of packaging is that it guarantees that juices and juice products are securely safeguarded against light, oxygen and external odours, to prevent oxidation and the product spoilage that occurs as a result of this.
