Greentec Awards 2017: Symrise, GIZ, Unilever & Save the Children Among Top Finalists
30 Jan 2017 --- Symrise has applied for the Greentec Awards 2017. With its partnership with “Save the Children” and its commitment on Madagascar, the company has reached the round of the top 10 applicants within the category “Sustainable Development”. Symrise has started this partnership together with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Unilever. The online voting now decides whether the project becomes one of the three finalists within its category.
With this partnership, Symrise, Unilever, and Deutsche Gesellschaft fürInternationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH want to help improve the livelihoods of vanilla farming communities in the Sava region, Madagascar. The development partnership is partly financed through the develoPPP.de program of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
For the tenth time, the GreenTec Awards look for the best green innovation within environmental protection and sustainability. Applicants come from 18 countries, among them Canada, India, Chile, Peru and the Maledives. The jury comprises representatives from business, politics and the media to cover all areas relevant to society. On February 22, 2017, the jury assembles for a last confidential meeting to determine the winners for all categories.
