GPC Launch Dietary Fiber Corn Bran Solution

07/09/06 Grain Processing Corporation (GPC) recently introduced two new corn products to the market: F75M and F75R. These fiber products are made from corn hulls, which are washed and heat treated , dried and then ground. The two products being introduced differ only in particle size. The minimum fiber content of this product is 75%, but will typically exceed 80%. There are also small amounts of protein, ash, and fat, as well as a uniquely low starch level (<2.0%).

At the IFT trade show in Orlando in the summer, PC showcased the dietary fiber TruBran in two bakery applications. Visitors were shown how they could earn a “good to excellent source of dietary fiber” claim on their nutritional labels while maintaining the texture and flavor normally associated with the indulgent foods. GPC also featured meat and sauce prototypes which highlight the company’s INSCOSITY and PURE-GEL stabilized starches and their respective moisture-managing characteristics.
