GoodMills Innovation Establishes Uniform Brand Presence at HiE
04 Dec 14 --- GoodMills Innovation, formerly Kampffmeyer Food Innovation, has completed its integration into its new umbrella company GoodMills Deutschland.
Following the renaming of the German parent company VK Mühlen to GoodMills Deutschland in October, this latest rebranding is the next step towards a uniform brand presence.
All business units remain unchanged under the umbrella of GoodMills Deutschland. The mills will continue producing their standard product range of premium milled grain products while GoodMills Innovation GmbH will continue refining the flours from its sister companies and serving the functional ingredients market.
Michael Gusko, Managing Director of GoodMills Innovation, explains: “We are still far away from unlocking the full market potential of the raw material grain. According to our motto “We unlock the power of grain” we will continue to focus on the technological functionality of milled grain products and on exploring the health potential of grain. Being part of the largest milling group in Europe will enable us to further strengthen our market position and to become even more competitive.”
Artisan bakeries and the food industry have been traditionally among the customers of GoodMills Innovation. The global Clean Label trend is continually boosting the demand for functional flours.
Exhibiting at HiE in Amsterdam this week, GoodMills Innovation showcased it’s Vein of Gold, an innovative ingredient that can be used to enrich baked goods with fibre. This grain product was developed in collaboration with researchers and industry partners who took part in two EU-funded projects, HealthGrain and HealthBread. It consists of the aleurone layer which surrounds the starchy endosperm of the wheat kernel and is proven to contain the grain’s highest content of valuable nutrients, including dietary fibre, vitamins and minerals. Vein of Gold is suitable for use in a wide array of baked goods, from pastry to bread. Depending on the dosage used, nutrition claims in line with the Health Claims Regulation may be made on pack.
Manufacturers looking to develop Clean Label formulations for wheat pan bread and toast bread, baguettes and pastry products were interested to find out more about Purafarin HydroSoft. This functional flour ensures best rheological properties of dough in versatile applications. It has proven to be particularly ideal for Deep Pan pizza dough, where it provides a short texture, a perfect pore structure and superior softness. These properties are maintained even during several weeks of cold.
The GoodMills Group operates more than 25 mills in seven countries (Austria, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria). The annual volume of processed grain amounts to 2.7 million tons (fiscal year 2013/14).
