Glanbia Confirms Negotiations with Meats MBO Team

16/01/08 Glanbia plc confirms that it has entered into negotiations which may lead to a transaction being concluded whereby the Group will sell its Meats business to an MBO team.
The MBO team is led by Mr. Jim Hanley, Chief Executive, Glanbia Meats, together with three other senior managers - Niall Leydon, Operations Manager, Michael Slevin, Human Resources Manager and Andy Fleming, Finance and Strategy Manager.
This development is consistent with Glanbia’s stated objective of focusing investment on key growth areas – cheese, food ingredients, nutrition and selected consumer foods. Glanbia Meats employs 850 people at four facilities and at pig farms in Ireland.
