Gelita to Appoint Witzel as Chairman
With effect September 1, 2006, Dr. Witzel will be appointed Chairman of the Management Board, when he will take over the responsibilities of the current Chairman Dipl. Ing. Jörg Siebert who will at that point leave the company.
28/02/06 Gelatine supplier Gelita AG have reported that Dr. Michael Witzel will be appointed Chairman of the Management Board at the beginning of September.
Dr. Witzel (52) was previously Executive Vice President of DEGUSSA AG and prior to that member of the Management Board of SKW Trostberg AG. In both positions he was responsible for natural products in the areas of food additives, gelatine (Rousselot) and salt (Südsalz and Bad Reichenhaller Spezialsalz).
With effect September 1, 2006, Dr. Witzel will be appointed Chairman of the Management Board, when he will take over the responsibilities of the current Chairman Dipl. Ing. Jörg Siebert who will at that point leave the company in friendship and mutual agreement. Mr. Siebert will relinquish his office with effect August 31, 2006 to allow Dr Witzel, whom he proposed as his successor to the Supervisory Board, to take over his responsibilities.
Jörg Siebert (61) has been with the company for 28 years, over 23 as a member of the Management Board and almost 20 years as its Chairman. Under his leadership, DGF STOESS, today GELITA AG, advanced to become the world market leader in gelatine. Today, GELITA stands for worldwide competence in gelatine. This step represents a further generation change in the top management of the world market leader.
