FRS Antioxidant Energy Drink Debuts in Seattle
FRS is a scientifically formulated healthy energy drink created to provide a sustained energy boost, improved mental focus and powerful antioxidant protection.
21/09/06 Dick Lamb, Balance Bar co-founder and CEO of New Sun Nutrition, announces the launch of FRS Antioxidant Energy Drink in Seattle, as part of the first phase of an extensive nationwide rollout. The Ready to Drink beverage is making its debut in more than 92 QFC supermarkets in the Seattle area as well as in Central and Metropolitan Markets.
FRS is a scientifically formulated healthy energy drink created to provide a sustained energy boost, improved mental focus and powerful antioxidant protection. The patented formula combines quercetin and green tea catechins with seven key vitamins and metabolic enhancers to synergistically increase the level and duration of antioxidant activity in the body.
"FRS has far exceeded our expectations in terms of sales and endorsement, so we are thrilled to announce its launch in the Seattle market," says Dick Lamb, CEO of New Sun Nutrition. "As a result of the explosive growth of FRS coupled with all of the amazing feedback and support from elite athletes, nutritionists, professional trainers and everyday people, we are committed to making FRS a national success story."
Mr. Lamb continues, "FRS is the healthy alternative to other energy and sports drinks that offer very little if any nutritional value. It is the first and only energy drink that helps people naturally fight fatigue, while promoting long term health and wellness."
The new Ready to Drink comes in three delicious flavors including orange, lemon lime and wild berry and provides 370mg of flavonoids - potent free radical fighters found in fruits and vegetables. One serving of FRS Ready to Drink has the same amount of antioxidants as four servings of blueberries or eleven servings of raspberries. Free radical scavengers neutralize free radicals to help prevent damage to the body's cells which has been linked to aging, weakened immune systems and most chronic disease processes, including heart disease, diabetes, stroke, Alzheimer's disease, arthritis, and DNA damage leading to mutations and some types of cancer.
The breakthrough formula is the result of years of research and development by Dr. Lan Bo Chen, Ph.D., Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Dr. Mitsunori Ono, Ph.D., world-renowned phytochemical expert and Senior Scientist with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and other pioneers in flavonoid research.
FRS has also been part of an independent, double-blind, cross-over study in June 2004 conducted at Pepperdine University which measured the effect of FRS on cycling performance. The results were dramatic - a 3.1% improvement in overall time. The study was published in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism in August 2006.
Dr. Holden MacRae, lead investigator and Professor of Sports Medicine at Pepperdine, comments, "Changes of this magnitude are extremely significant, especially through consumption of a liquid dietary supplement. FRS also has powerful cross-over applications for casual athletes as well as the non-athletic by helping to prevent oxidative cell damage and increasing energy for daily activity."
New Sun Nutrition will be providing samples of FRS at various locations throughout Seattle over the months to come, as well as hosting a series of events including "The FRS Fish Market Frenzy", a Guinness Book of World Records fish-throwing competition that will take place at Pike Place Fish Market.
FRS is available in both Original and Low Calorie versions and can also be purchased online at www.frsenergy.com in liquid concentrate, ready to drink, chewable and powder formats.
