Former Royal Dutch Shell Executive Linda Zarda Cook Elected to Cargill Board of Directors

23 Feb 2010 --- Linda Zarda Cook, former executive director of Royal Dutch Shell plc in Den Haag, Netherlands, has been elected to Cargill's board of directors.
"Linda's experience in growing Shell's natural gas and power business and in global energy markets makes her a great addition to Cargill's board," said Greg Page, Cargill chairman and chief executive officer.
Cook joined Shell Oil Company (now Royal Dutch Shell) in 1980, working in exploration and production for many years. She became chief executive of Shell Gas & Power in the United Kingdom in 2000, and director, president and chief executive officer of Shell Canada Ltd., in 2003. Cook was appointed executive director of Royal Dutch Shell in the Netherlands in 2004. She retired from Shell in 2009.
Cook holds a degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Kansas. In addition to Cargill, she serves on the board of The Boeing Company.
Cook joins five other independent directors on Cargill's board: Richard H. Anderson, chief executive officer of Delta Air Lines, Inc.; Arthur D. Collins, Jr., retired chairman and chief executive officer of Medtronic, Inc.; S. Curtis Johnson, chairman of JohnsonDiversey, Inc.; Richard M. Kovacevich, chairman emeritus of Wells Fargo & Company; and Michael W. Wright, former chairman of SUPERVALU INC.
