FMC BioPolymer to Increase Prices for Carrageenan and MCC by up to 15%
Sustained global demand for specialty pulps used in the production of MCC based products and low pulp inventories have resulted in continued raw material price increases.
Oct 28 2010 --- FMC BioPolymer has announced a price increase of up to 15 percent on its carrageenan and microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) based products, effective November 29, 2010.
Sustained global demand for specialty pulps used in the production of MCC based products and low pulp inventories have resulted in continued raw material price increases. Prices for both warm and cold water seaweeds that are used in the production of carrageenan continue to rise as demand outpaces supply. FMC BioPolymer continues to dedicate significant resources to identify and implement productivity improvement programs to mitigate the impact of rising cost, the company claimed.
All FMC plants are ISO 9002 certified, demonstrating the company’s commitment to providing an assured supply of the highest quality products and delivering innovative and cost effective solutions to formulators’ problems.
