Firmenich Breaks Ground on New Flavor Encapsulation Center of Excellence in Indonesia
11 Dec 2014 --- Firmenich held the official ground-breaking ceremony for its new state-of the-art Center of Excellence for Flavor Encapsulation technology in Indonesia. This facility will enable Firmenich to pilot manufacture both new and existing encapsulation technologies, allowing the company to create sample and low volume batches with shorter lead times to respond to the fast paced Southeast Asian market.
This investment follows on the heels of the new encapsulation manufacturing plant the company opened in October 2013.
“Our new Center of Excellence clearly supports Firmenich’s global strategy to invest closer to our markets and clients,” said Firmenich CEO Gilbert Ghostine, who attended the event. “Our priority is to help our clients deliver the best products and value to their consumers and to improve their speed to market.”
The new Center of Excellence will pilot manufacture the following encapsulation technologies:
• Durarome, and the new generation of Durarome aromatic products, which are the market leading technologies for powdered soft drinks, providing the freshness and impact consumers desire over the entire shelf life of a product
• Flexarome, which offers more moisture and process resistance, making it the gold standard for flavor performance in hot applications such as coffee, tea, soups and sauces
• Captarome, a new technology which meets the needs of higher impact or lower cost-in-use spray-dried flavors
• Culinary Blends, Firmenich’s proprietary savory powder systems which harness the culinary expertise of our chefs and flavorists into the most usable format for the savory foods industry
The new Center of Excellence is expected to open in February 2016.
