E&J Gallo Winery Announces New ‘Apothic Red’ Wine Launch

01 Mar 2013 --- E&J Gallo Winery is excited to announce the launch of a new wine to the UK – Apothic Red. This wine is a premium offering from the E.&J.Gallo Winery and will be targeted at young professionals with a preference for less heavy red wine styles.

Named after the mysterious place Apotheca – where vintners stored their most coveted concoctions in 13th century Europe – Apothic Red fuses old world intrigue with modern sophistication.

Apothic Red’s unique style is created using a blend of four distinct red grapes from California – Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Apothic Red is a rich and smooth wine with flavours of blackberry, dark cherry and hints of mocha, chocolate and brown spice.

With each grape offering its own set of unique flavours and characteristics, this blend is a pleasure to drink and pairs beautifully with a wide range of foods.

Apothic Red has already achieved runaway success in Canada – where it’s the number one premium wine in the country. In the US, Apothic is the first premium brand from the winery to reach a million cases and Apothic Red became Gallo’s fastest SKU to reach one million cases in a year.

The launch will be supported by a comprehensive marketing campaign focusing on in store sampling and a necker promotion which will persuade consumers to try this unique wine.
