Darren Haar Joins Solae as Vice President
In his role, Haar will be responsible for driving three business segments, including meat proteins (soy protein isolates, soy concentrates and textured flour), as well as lecithin and DuPont soy polymer.

24/04/09 Solae, LLC is announcing the addition of Darren Haar, as vice president for three business segments. Haar will be a part of Solae’s global executive leadership team, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Torkel Rhenman.

He has a proven track record of creating successful growth businesses by developing strong teams with a focus on strategic execution, growth and profit,” said Rhenman. “We look forward to having him contribute to our growth in specific business areas and play an integral role in the company’s overall strategic vision.”
In his role, Haar will be responsible for driving three business segments, including meat proteins (soy protein isolates, soy concentrates and textured flour), as well as lecithin and DuPont soy polymer. The key Solae brands for these segments are Supro, Response and Centex. Solae’s lecithin business provides food emulsifiers for industrial applications and includes our brands Solec, Enhance, Textrol. The DuPont soy polymer business includes Pro-Cote products, which impart a combination of functional properties to paper and paperboard coatings not provided by any other single ingredient on the market. “It is exciting to join the Solae team and to help build on the success of the company,” said Haar. “During these tough economical times, we will continue to grow our business while we continue to provide our customers with consistent, quality products.”
Haar comes to Solae with more than 12 years of experience in a variety of roles at Solae’s parent company, DuPont. His most recent role was as global business director of High Performance Laminates at DuPont in Tokyo, Japan. Haar received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of New Mexico. Growing up in South Dakota, he is happy to be back in the Midwest and working for an agriculture and nutrition-based company.
