Castle Brands Introduces Knappogue Castle Barrel Program
09 Dec 2014 --- Knappogue Castle Single Malt Irish Whiskey is proud to introduce its new customized barrel program for bars, restaurants and retailers!
This is a unique opportunity for establishments to offer their customers a rare cask strength edition (92 proof, 46% alc./vol) of this delicious 12 year old single malt Irish whiskey. The whiskey was aged for 12 years in first fill ex-bourbon American oak casks and is non-chill filtered. The whiskey will be offered on a limited availability basis by the barrel to retailers.
Each barrel yields 36 6-bottle cases. The bottles are labeled with a design that distinguishes itself from the standard Knappogue Castle 12 Year Single Malt Irish Whiskey sold in the marketplace, and each bottle is individually numbered and personalized with the account name/logo.
Knappogue Castle Single Malt Irish Whiskey is named for the majestic castle that stands in County Clare, Ireland, that was originally built in 1497. The castle was purchased in 1966 by Mark Edwin Andrews. He started bottling Knappogue Castle single malt whiskeys at a time when only blended whiskeys were popular in Ireland, hence the signature on the label. It’s a bit of Irish history in every dram!
