Campina opens renewed production facility
The investment of EUR 80 million in Aalter, Belgium, transforms a relatively basic dairy factory into a hyper-modern production location for European and international markets.
03/10/05 Campina has opened a renewed production facility on European scale. The investment of EUR 80 million in Aalter, Belgium, transforms a relatively basic dairy factory into a hyper-modern production location for European and international markets.
As part of its growth strategy Campina, one of Europe’s leading dairy organisations, today opened a completely refurbished production facility in Aalter, Belgium.
The new facility will be opened by Mr. B.C. Jansen, member of the Executive Board of Campina in the presence of the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister J. Vande Lanotte. Campina now has access to a hyper-modern production location which will produce long-life dairy products for Europe and other parts of the world. With an investment of approximately Euro80 million, Campina radically refurbished and expanded production capacity, and constructed a completely new automatic warehouse of 10.000 m2. The facility in Aalter now has an annual capacity of 275 million units (UHT bottles) and offers employment to about 500 people.
