2 Dec 2014 --- Bottlegreen Drinks is enhancing and expanding its premium cocktail mixer range with the addition of a new bottlegreen ‘Classic’ Indian Tonic Water, which joins the contemporary and sophisticated flavoured tonic water duo – bottlegreen Pink Tonic Water and Elderflower Tonic Water – launched last year.
The new line is being introduced into the on-trade and foodservice sectors in response to demand from trade customers for a classic-style tonic water from bottlegreen to complement the innovative pomegranate and elderflower-flavoured variants which heralded bottlegreen’s entry into the premium mixer category last summer.
bottlegreen Classic Tonic Water is crafted with the same wine making techniques perfected for the bottlegreen soft drinks range and is made with Cotswold Spring Water. High carbonation levels ensure it retains its sparkle whether it is used as a premium cocktail mixer or drunk on its own.
The new line, which contains 30 calories per 100ml, is packaged in 175ml glass bottles styled in the iconic, elegant shape instantly associated with the bottlegreen brand, and will make its debut in the trade in December in the lead up to Christmas with the roll-out continuing in the New Year.
Simon Speers, Managing Director of Bottlegreen Drinks, says: “bottlegreen is the UK’s best-selling glass premium cordial1 and elderflower drink, and our aim with the bottlegreen Tonic Water range is to make bottlegreen the ultimate premium cocktail mixer. Having established the Pink and Elderflower flavoured Tonic Waters which brought an exciting and contemporary new twist to the premium mixer category, a lot of customers were also asking for a classic Indian tonic water from bottlegreen and we are more than happy to oblige!
“The premium tonic sector is generating the most dynamic growth within the £192 million mixers market. Sales of premium tonic waters have almost tripled in the past year, compared with a 3% value growth in the mixer category as a whole and this clearly demonstrates that consumers are trading up and the category is ripe for further development. The addition of bottlegreen Classic Tonic Water alongside the two flavoured bottlegreen Tonic Waters will broaden the appeal by spanning both contemporary and more traditional flavour profiles.”
