Bimbo and Nestle team up for Lent
To give consumers nutritious and delicious recipes during Lent.
28/03/06 Kids and adults tired of the same old Friday fish sticks every week for the six weeks of Lent have reason to rejoice. Bimbo and Nestle are teaming up this spring to offer consumers a unique recipe and coupon program during the Lent season. Two million free recipe and coupon booklets are included with six Bimbo products. Delicious and nutritious recipes include Creamy Crab Canapés, Sugar Snap Pea and Shrimp Salad and Banana Truffles. Since many people do not eat meat for religious reasons during the Lent, the recipes use seafood or vegetarian alternatives.
The recipes are found on Bimbo products including Bimbo Double Fiber Bread, Honey 7 Grain Bread, 100% Whole Wheat Bread, Double Fiber Toasted Bread, Toasted Bread and Bread Crumbs. They are also found on Nestle Maggi, Media Crema, Chocolate Abuelita, La Lechera and Nescafe. In addition to recipes, each booklet also contains $.50 coupons.
The nationwide program is supported by radio advertising and engaging in-store displays. This is the second time Nestle and Bimbo have collaborated on a Lent promotion.
