Arla Foods Ingredients Announces Whey Joint Venture Approved
The partners have agreed to invest EUR 35 million in a new whey processing facility on the site of DMK’s cheese plant in Nordhackstedt, North Germany.
5/12/2011 --- European competition authorities have given Arla Foods Ingredients and Germany’s largest dairy company, DMK, the green light to proceed with their planned joint venture.
By the end of 2012, the joint venture will secure significantly increased supplies of whey for Arla Foods Ingredients’ production of natural, milk-based ingredients.
The partners have agreed to invest EUR 35 million in a new whey processing facility on the site of DMK’s cheese plant in Nordhackstedt, North Germany. An additional EUR 9 million will go into expanding Arla Foods Ingredients’ whey processing plant in Nr. Vium, Denmark.
The new joint venture company will operate under the name ArNoCo GmbH & Co. KG.
