Alber Appointed to GELITA Management Board

17/01/08 The Supervisory Board of GELITA AG has appointed Dr. Axel Alber to the Management Board of the company. GELITA AG is the world's leading manufacturer of gelatine and collagen hydrolysate and maintains production facilities in Europe, North America, South America and the Asian-Pacific Basin. Effective January 1, 2008, Dr. Alber is Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) responsible for Marketing and Sales.
Dr. Alber, 42, has some 16 years of international experience in the food and consumer goods industry, over eight of these as Director and VP of Marketing and Sales with Mars Inc. and Colgate Palmolive.
By appointing an experienced marketing specialist to the Management Board, GELITA AG says it is now better equipped to meet the challenges of the marketplace, to give a sharper edge to the GELITA profile and to strengthen its position on the world market.
Dr. Alber has a doctorate in veterinary medicine and an MBA in International Marketing and Management.
Within the scope of the reorganization of the Management Board, Dr. Herbert Gareis, responsible for Production, has left the company.
