Adams Food Ingredients Unveils New Identity: ‘Ornua Nutrition Ingredients’
01 Apr 2016 --- Adams Food Ingredients, the major supplier of high quality ingredients to the food manufacturing sector, have unveiled their new identity ‘Ornua Nutrition Ingredients’, coming into line with that of its parent company, Ornua.
The business is a key element of Ornua’s major presence in the UK and its new identity reflects the importance Ornua places on its continuing growth and development in what is a key market for the Group.
Alastair Jackson (pictured) Managing Director of Ornua Nutrition Ingredients spoke to FoodIngredientsFirst about the rename: “Its been a big rebranding exercise, from our perspective it highlights our relationship with Ornua, and harness the growing capabilities around R&D, innovation and supply chain,” he explains, “It also reenforces our continued future growth strategy, we are on a growth journey and the new name reflects this.”
Over the last seven years Ornua has invested in the region of £15 million in establishing Ornua Nutrition Ingredients as a leading supplier of high quality ingredients to the UK, European and global food industry centered upon serving five key sectors: Dairy Ingredients; Bakery; Breakfast Cereals; Health & Wellbeing and Sports Nutrition. With a turnover of £35 million it focuses on delivering sourcing, blending, innovation and packing excellence and operates from its state-of-the-art facility in Leek Staffordshire. The facility is BRC Version 7 Grade AA accredited.

The new name gives the business a clear link with its parent company Ornua – a leading international agri-food commercial co-operative which markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its members, Ireland’s dairy processors and the Irish dairy farmer.
Adopting the Ornua name reinforces that Ornua Nutrition Ingredients can benefit from the financial, operational and commercial strength of its parent company.
Jackson adds: “Our new name highlights the business’ commitment to achieving our vision of becoming a world class supplier of ingredients through focusing on understanding our customers’ needs and meeting them through a combination of partnership, innovation and continued investment in the latest processing and packing technologies.”
"The word nutrition is important, we provide nutrition ingredients to a whole host of customers and have more recently got involved in sports nutrition which is where we are seeing lots of growth,” he says, “In our innovation world we are increasingly looking at consumer insights and trends and how we can take those trends and bring them to our customers who in turn can use them to add value to their brands and business – we are hoping that the word nutrition in our company name will help explain to people what we do and how we look at things.”
