A&B Unveils New Pea Protein Isolate for Baked Goods

Introduced at this year’s SupplySide West in Las Vegas, this new pea protein isolate was created to meet the growing needs of manufacturers of high protein baked goods, including protein bars, granola bars, bread products and extruded crisps.

Bakal notes that Pisane B9 pea protein isolate is an extremely viable alternative protein source containing high levels of branched chain amino acids – leucine, isoleucine, valine – arginine and lysine. A non-genetically modified (GMO) pea protein isolate, Pisane has has excellent digestibility -- 98% -- and a well-balanced amino acid profile. Manufactured by Cosucra, Pisane B9 contains 88% to 90% protein. It is both gluten free and exhibits low incidents of allergens.
