8th Continent(R) launches 8th Continent Refreshers

01/02/06 8th Continent Soymilk has launched 8th Continent Refreshers, America's first refrigerated juice and soy protein blended beverage. Each 8 oz. serving of the heart healthy drink contains real fruit juice, 20% of the daily value of calcium, 100% of daily value of Vitamin C and 6.25 grams of Solae ® brand soy protein.

8th Continent is no stranger to successfully launching new beverages. Sales of the company's popular line of soymilks continue to grow, earning 17 percent of refrigerated soymilk category sales after only two years of nationwide availability. Demand for soy beverages will likely continue growing as manufacturers introduce new products with improved taste and a greater presence in mainstream retail outlets.

Few foods have been examined as thoroughly as soy. In 1999, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration concluded 25 grams of soy protein per day as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.
