Kalsec® Southwest, located near Denver City, Texas, specializes in the cultivation, harvest, dehydration and extraction of paprika, rosemary and carrot, as well as specialty herbs and spices. At this location we also process a line of solvent-free expeller pressed extracts that are ideal for supporting your green and sustainability platform.

In 1995, we opened an office in the United Kingdom, now known as Kalsec® Europe (KEU). Kalsec® Europe has been providing local support to the European market, with sales, sampling, applications and warehousing capabilities. Located in Mildenhall, United Kingdom, KEU continues to grow to meet the needs of the European market.

In February 2010, we opened an office in Shanghai, China to serve our customers in the Asian market. Additionally, we have a network of agents as well as an applications laboratory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to meet the growing demands of this emerging market.

Major milestone: Kalsec receives rating for sustainably sourced US crops

17 May 2018 --- As a first milestone since joining the SAI (Sustainable Agriculture Initiative) Platform in 2017, Kalsec has worked with its US growers to implement SAI Platform’s FSA 2.0 tool (Farm Sustainability Assessment). The FSA 2.0 tool evaluates sustainable farming practices covering environmental, economic and social aspects and is a widely recognized assessment in the food and beverage industry.

Meeting future consumer flavor trends

In the latest update of the Kalsec HeatSync Heat Index, global new product introductions with hot and spicy ingredients increased for a ninth straight year, showing a consistent, growing consumer interest in hot and spicy foods. Kalsec also recently completed a follow-up survey from a 2015 US online survey evaluating current consumer opinions about hot and spicy foods. “Consumers are not only eating hot and spicy foods more often, but we see a continued interest in combinations such as hot and sweet,” says Gary Augustine, executive director, market development.

The Launch of a New Clean Label Solution

Kalsec announced the extension of its cleaner label ingredient portfolio to include a new line of water dispersible oleoresins.  Simply Aquaresin water dispersible oleoresins have been formulated with emulsifiers that meet the requirements of most retail grocery stores and other catering establishments that have identified unacceptable artificial and “chemical sounding” ingredients for many of their products.  “Kalsec has led the industry in the development of water dispersible oleoresins with our Aquaresin product line, and now we are offering our customers additional cleaner label options,” says Gary Augustine, executive director, market development.
