Herba Ingredients, part of the Ebro Ingredients Group, is the largest European rice and pulse ingredients manufacturer. With factories in Belgium and the Netherlands, Herba Ingredients produces a range of different ingredients for the food industry, among others: rice starches, native and heat treated rice flours, precooked rice flours, baby food rice flours, organic rice flour, and rice pellets and flakes. Also a range of pulse ingredients are manufactured, like pea starch and protein concentrates, pea fiber, different pulse flours, pellets, and texturized pea protein.
Herba Ingredients not only produces these ingredients, we also develop solutions and different applications for our products. We do this in our own R&D and appliation laboratory and pilot plant in which more than 25 researches work.
Products / Markets
As a leader in rice ingredients, Herba Ingredients has its own rice fields in Spain and Argentina, where it grows different rice varieties in a sustainable way and with full traceability. Herba Ingredients controls therefore the whole production chain, from seed to ingredient. Rice flours and starches find their way in baby food applications, gluten free bakery, the snack industry, but lso in dairy, beverages, sauces, and soups.
Herba Ingredients also produces pea and faba bean concentrates. These natural starch and protein concentrates are offered in flour, pellets and texturized form.

Arjan Geerlings, New Business Development Manager, notes that the company is based on the four pillars of rice, pulses ancient grains and durum wheat. At the trade show, Herba Ingredients, which forms part of the Ebro Ingredients Group, launched a new texturized pea protein based on a concentration rather than an isolate.
