Tumultuous times amid COVID-19: 2020 has been a year like no other. As we turn the corner into the promise of 2021, FoodIngredientsFirst takes a look back on the top 20 most read stories of the past year. From the early days of COVID-19 impacting supply chains, and companies scrambling to cope, to the evolution of plant-based NPD – 2020 was marked with some significant industry news. COVID-19, sustainability and plant-based themes were among the biggest to draw in readers throughout 2020. Other major themes included healthy eating to boost immunity, locally sourced ingredients, and the significance of transparency, trust and sustainability, through good storytelling.
