06 Mar 2015 --- Davisco, Business Unit of Agropur Inc., announces completion of a significant increase in production capacity of Alpha-lactalbumin at the Jerome Cheese facility in Jerome, Idaho. The potential Alpha-lactalbumin volume from Jerome Cheese will be increasing tenfold. Davisco's unique product is isolated to over 90% Alpha-lactalbumin, the highest purity commercially available.

19 Jan 2015 --- Davisco, Business Unit of Agropur Inc., has announced an increase of production capacity and extension of the BioZate product line, a family of hydrolyzed whey proteins that complements their portfolio of whey protein products for food and nutrition applications. BioZate whey proteins are manufactured utilizing a proprietary process, and processing expansion has allowed for significant volumes to be manufactured.

Innovations in Dairy Proteins

Davisco Foods is increasing its focus behind its alpha-lactalbumin ingredient. The proprietary whey ingredient is rich in leucine and the amino acid tryptophan. The latter is a precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin and the neurosecretory hormone melatonin, which have been shown to play a role in regulating neurobehavioral effects such as appetite, sleep-waking rhythm, pain perception, mood, anxiety and stress control.
