Oct 27 2010 --- Dr Bob Hagan is the new managing director of Reading Scientific Services Ltd. His career to date spans commercial, marketing and R&D roles with major names in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, including Quaker Oats, Warner & Lambert, Pfizer, Cadbury and Kraft Foods. Dr Hagan also heads the global analytical network for Kraft Foods, and is well placed to steer the growth of RSSL's internal and external businesses. "This is an exciting time for this facility," says Dr Hagan. "We are already an important research organisation for our many external customers, as well as the internal customers within Kraft, and we are keen to expand our business."

Dr Hagan's appointment coincides with Jacinta George becoming Associate Director, Speciality Sciences. Jacinta previously held the role of Commercial Director at RSSL, having begun her career at RSSL working in the taints and off-flavours laboratory.

Simon Flanagan, formerly Head of Speciality Analysis has moved to a new role of Senior Consultant, Food Safety. Simon has already helped build RSSL's expertise in allergen management and analysis, and has become a leading industry figure in the adoption of best practice in allergen management.  He has broad experience of manufacturing gained from more than 25 years in the food industry, and is therefore well suited to the new role which involves advising clients on the implementation of procedures and best practice based on the application of sound scientific principles.
