2/17/2011 --- Symington’s has extended its successful Golden Wonder: The Nation’s Noodle brand with the launch of the new The Nation’s Normous Noodle, again using RPC Containers Blackburn’s Snack Pot.
 
As reported in 2009, Symington’s reinvigorated the nostalgic Golden Wonder brand with the launch of The Nation’s Noodle, a flavour-packed instant hot noodle snack available in four characteristically British tastes, backed by Union Jack-themed on-pack decoration and RPC Blackburn’s distinctive use of black polypropylene to help the pack stand out on shelf.
 
As the name suggests, The Nation’s Normous Noodle is an opportunity to extend the core brand with a new size for bigger appetites. 25% larger than the standard size, Symington’s has also launched a brand new flavour Inferno Chilli to complement the existing varieties, Chicken and Mushroom, Sweet and Sour, Beef and Tomato and Chip Shop Curry.
 
Symington’s asked RPC Blackburn to devise a larger pack that would match the overall branding of the Nation’s Noodle. The result is a custom moulded 550 ml Snack Pot that maintains the overall shape of the 430 ml version used for the standard range. As before, the pack is injection moulded in black PP, with vertical flutes to help disperse heat from the top of the container ensuring safe handling.
 
While the brand’s familiar visuals are maintained, Symington’s has taken advantage of the new pack’s extended labelling area to give prominence to the fact that the new size is ‘Normous.’
