Univar and Bunge LSI Announce Exclusive Distribution Agreement in Europe
11 May 2017 -- Univar Food Ingredients, an ingredient distributor and provider of value-added services across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), has entered into a distribution agreement with Bunge Lecithin & Specialty Ingredients (LSI). Under the agreement, Univar will distribute LSI’s high-quality brand of BungeMaxx lecithin across Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
“Adding Bunge’s lecithin line to our portfolio enables us to be a more holistic solutions provider to our food customers,” said Paul Harvey, EMEA Commercial Manager for Univar Food Ingredients. “Combined with its technical expertise and supply network, Univar can better deliver its quality promise to the market and provide attractive new growth for Bunge.”
Abigail Dillon EMEA Product & Marketing Coordinator, Univar Food Ingredients told FoodIngredientsFirst: “This agreement will expand consumers/customers choice on natural functional emulsifiers from a fulling integrated manufacturer with full traceable from bean to finished product.”
When can we expect to see the effects of this happening? “Product will be available with immediate effect and we can expect to see these products formulated into retail & food service recipes within the next 3 months.”
The BungeMaxx ingredient range consists of premium lecithin from soya, rapeseed and sunflower seeds, fulfilling the highest of quality standards. BungeMaxx is suitable for a range of applications including confectionery, bakery, oil, fats and more.
