Tosmur Group Expand Footprint in Romania
02 Dec 2016 --- Turkish company, Tosmur Group have announced its first project outside Turkey, the setup of a modern state of the art crystalline fructose and maltodextrin plant in Romania to be commissioned in early 2019.
The new plant, Omnia Europe, is planned to produce 60,000 tons of maltodextrin to satisfy current and future market growing demand for high quality grades (baby food grade), and 40,000 tons crystalline fructose. Omnia Europe will also produce glucose, Fructose syrups, corn starch and dextrose monohydrate.
The total investment will be about 204 million Euros (USD 217 million).
The new plant will be located in Romania, in the area of NON GMO corn belt. Moreover, the plant will utilize the opportunities in the new European sweetener market, including a particularly strong opening in Eastern Europe, where there is better market access to the entire EU market. The location will be also convenient for serving worldwide destinations.
Fatih Tosmur, Chairman of Tosmur group: “Our group is developing quickly in the specialty food ingredients. Nowadays we are holding shares in Tat Nisasta, a leading Crystalline Fructose producer (LevoSweet), and we are also involved in PET, caviar, real estate and more. In 2015, we established Omnia Nisasta, in Adana- Turkey, for the purpose of producing maltodextrin, crystalline Fructose (FructoSan) as well as glucose, maltose, fructose syrups, native corn starch.
“Tosmur Group is today the biggest manufacturer of NON GMO fructose in the world,” he claims.
Tosmur added: “This is our first investment outside Turkey. We are planning in the near future additional investments in other regions in order to better serve the food and beverage market.”
With a well-established base of customers, most of which are leading and major players within food and beverage industry, Omnia Global (Omnia Nisasta Turkey and Omnia Europe) is well-positioned to benefit from the continued growth in demand for foods, soft drinks, beverages and other downstream cornstarch related products.
