Puratos Acquires North American Bakery
05 Feb 2016 --- Puratos, innovator in the bakery, patisserie, and chocolate industry, has recently acquired Pennant Ingredients, a leading provider of speciality bakery products and solutions to the North American Quick Service Restaurant, food-service and retail in-store bakery channels. Pennant Ingredients is a large baked goods supplier for the food-service and retail markets operating in the US.
Puratos Australia-New Zealand, which offers a wide range of innovative bakery, patisserie and chocolate products, acquires the Australian Melbourne Jam Manufacturing dedicated to the production of fruit and patisserie fillings for artisanal and industrial customers. This acquisition opens the door to new opportunities for Puratos Australia-New Zealand: growth in local manufacturing, more investment in local R&D, wider industry access to locally made, innovative and tailored products along with future job opportunities for the local community and ongoing support of local growers.

With more than 70 years of expertise in producing and delivering ready-to-use mixes and toppings, Pennant Ingredients, located in Rochester, New York, generates more than 70 million dollars in sales and employs 100 people.

Firstly, Puratos will expand business to all states in Australia thanks to the existing national distribution network of Melbourne Jam Manufacturing Co, and will benefit from its large capacity, Melbourne-based production facility.
