Prayon Technologies to License Its Processes for Two New Phosphoric Acid Plants in Egypt
23 Aug 2016 --- Prayon Technologies, the Prayon Group division specializing in the licensing of phosphoric acid processes, will provide the license and technical know-how for two new phosphoric acid plants due to be built in Egypt as part of the NCIC Ain Sokhna Fertilizer Complex on the Gulf of Suez. This will be the biggest fertilizer complex ever built in Egypt.
“Prayon Technologies is delighted to have been selected by NCIC for this new project”, says Marc Collin, Director of Prayon Technologies. “We had already successfully managed a phosphoric acid plant project for the NCIC Group in Egypt back in 2009 and we are keen to once again demonstrate how our expertise and equipment make the difference.”
For Prayon Technologies, the scope of work comprises the provision of technical know-how, process engineering, support for detailed engineering, operator training, and support for commissioning, start-up and performance tests. Studies are already under way and the plants should be completed by 2018.
Each plant will have a capacity of 600 TPD P2O5 (phosphoric acid). Prayon Technologies will join forces on this project with its longstanding engineering partner Desmet Ballestra, based in Milan, Italy.
Not only will Prayon provide process know-how, but its Profile division will also deliver the equipment critical to this project, including tilting pan filters, reaction agitators, scrubbers and separators.
“Prayon Technologies has been a leader in the licensing of phosphoric acid processes for more than 60 years”, adds Marc Collin. “Our technology and equipment have been used in over 140 plants located in over 30 countries around the world. In order to improve the overall performance of phosphoric acid plants, we continually update the design of the equipment used in the process to improve recovery, energy efficiency and plant operability.”
