Cargill Launches New Services for Middle East Region
04 Nov 2014 --- In response to Cargill’s food business customers’ requirements in the Middle East, Turkey & North Africa (METNA) region, Cargill has introduced a new and fully integrated product and service offering combining its four businesses: cocoa and chocolate; starches and texturizers; sweeteners, polyols and dextroses; and refined oils and fats. Cargill’s objective is to enable enhanced customer service in the region.
At Gulfood Manufacturing in Dubai, Cargill will showcase 12 application prototypes and will also engage its customers with a strengthened regional market presence. Commenting on Cargill’s food business’ regional presence and commercial structure, Commercial & Market Development Director for Cargill Foods Middle East, Turkey & North Africa, Mr. Nedim El Cheik, said:
“Responding to the accelerating growth of the packaged food and beverages sector in the METNA region, our presence now includes combined technical and sales offices located in Dubai, Istanbul, Casablanca, Algiers, and Cairo. By going to the market with one offering, we are able to help our customers thrive by meeting their specific requirements more efficiently. In line with this approach, we have identified key trends that we have responded to by developing 12 new prototypes. These prototypes will be unveiled at Gulfood Manufacturing.”
Supporting sustainable growth for its customers, Cargill’s Innovation Centres have developed four themes that encapsulate the requirements of the region across different market segments. These concepts, which are premium indulgence, innovation, health, and cost optimisation, have been applied to the development of Cargill’s food business’ new prototypes to cover a diverse range of products from sweet treats to savoury delights.
El Cheik continued: “We partner with our customers to deliver products that resonate well with regional audiences and meet specific market requirements using Cargill’s global knowledge and experience, combined with local insights. In the end, our mission is to help our customers grow their business, as we hope to demonstrate at Gulfood Manufacturing.”
